A Dream That Changes Everything: A Pious Saint

One day, a saint renowned for his deep knowledge and devotion rested after his worship.

In that quiet moment, he saw a strange dream. It felt as though someone far away was calling for his help.

He understood he was meant to guide and preach, though he did not yet know why. Taking Allah’s name, he prepared for the journey ahead.

The Saint’s Arrival in the Forest Village

After many days of travel, the saint reached a remote village beside a dense forest. Finding no one there, he quietly began to pray.

The villagers were proud people who knew nothing about the One God. When they returned and saw the elderly stranger in worship, they became angry.

“What were you doing?” They were astonished.

The saint smiled softly, “I was praying to the One who created us all.”

They mocked the saint and said, “There is no god, everything is the result of our effort and destiny alone.”

“This is not your power,” the old man said. “It is only the blessing of Allah.”

His words filled the tribespeople with anger, and they tied the elderly saint to a tree.

Women and Daughters in the Ancient Belief Systems

The reason behind their harsh behaviour was an old myth. Years earlier, a terrible drought struck, and the tribespeople blamed their women and daughters for the suffering around them.

Women were treated harshly and forced into exhausting, degrading toil.

A man among them claimed the ancient lion of the forest had to be pleased through rituals and offerings.

The pious man had already endured great hardship. This time, the tribespeople left his fate to the lion.

That night, they began their ceremonies. Suddenly, a woman cried out:

“The Lion King, it has taken my child!”

Panic spread everywhere. The men searched desperately, but the lion was nowhere to be found. Soon after, more newborn boys began disappearing one after another.

The Lion’s Spine-Chilling Voice: A Testimony of Allah

The servant of Allah saw the community's worsening condition and raised his hands in dua. Allah accepted his prayer.

Suddenly, a thundering roar echoed across the hamlet. The lion’s voice shook the entire tribe. Fearful people cried for mercy.

“Give us back our sons! Why has this calamity come upon us?”

By Allah’s command, the lion spoke:

“This is not from me. It is from Allah because you lived in ignorance, humiliating the weak, showing haughtiness, and falling into self-importance because of wealth and sons.

A Final Lesson of the Lion's Story: Nothing Has Power Without Allah

“What power remains with you if Allah removes His blessings?”

The lion sighed and said, “Remember, I am only a creation of Allah. He alone is One.”

The Saint’s Message: Allah’s Absolute Sovereignty

The saint said, “The message of the lion has reached you all. I came with the same purpose to remind you that sons, daughters, rizq, and fortune all come only from Allah.” He then recited:

“He gives to whom He wills female children, and He gives to whom He wills male children.”

 (Surah Ash-Shura 42:49–50)

This Quranic verse reflects Allah’s absolute sovereignty, showing that it is His command alone. He may grant sons, daughters, both, or leave whom He wills without children.

At that moment, a newborn boy began to recite the greatness of Allah, filling the hearts with awe and silence.

And thus, hardened hearts were revived through the witness of a lion, by the decree of Allah.
